Review of Breakfast Club in Lake Placid, NY
Breakfast Club: Civilized and Hearty
Cuisine: American Comfort
The Breakfast Club, in keeping with its name, serves real breakfast. The meals are well made and come with a thoughtful presentation - the food looks good and tastes good. The bar opens early at the BC, with 10 takes on a Bloody Mary and 12 versions of Mimosa - the Breakfast Club knows how to cocktail at 9am. But it is the location that makes the BC great, right on Main Street, making it a short stroll from any downtown hotel. The BC serves lunch and dinner as well, which we will try on our next outing.
The Food:
The BC Bendedicts - we had the BC Bene - two perfectly poached eggs, light and fluffy, atop Canadian bacon and an English muffin, airy yet crisp, were both nicely covered in a robust hollandaise sauce - with a hearty side of home fries.
BC Rotis - perfect hearty meal before a day long hike or ski - 2 eggs made to order, served over a bed of seasoned home-fried potatoes served on a cast iron skillet - we had ours with bacon and swiss and fell in love with cheese covered bacon.
Insider Tips:
Don't fear the line: breakfast is a well-oiled machine at the BC and tables move fast: service is efficient, the kitchen if quick, they have a hostess to keep things in order and you can grab a drink at the bar while you wait.
